JEWELLERY CARE

Sterling Silver will naturally tarnish overtime, so long as it's being worn. Regular cleaning is advised to keep its shine.

Different features require different care. Here are our recommendations:

Patina 'blackened' silver

High points on blackened pieces will naturally revert back to their silver shine overtime, but colour in the crevices will remain. Reduce water exposure and hard contact with surfaces, and the colour will be sustained for longer.

Crevice pieces

Silver pieces with crevices should not be exposed to lotions, creams, or other cosmetics, as trapped products in the hidden fractures will cause a build-up of bacteria and dirt.

For sterling silver pieces with shiny finishes, we recommend using a spare, soft-bristled toothbrush and dish soap under running water to manually clean your piece.

Refrain from brushing gemstones, as they will scratch, and blackened silver, as the finish will be impacted.

Plated Pieces

Debashi plated pieces are plated using electroplating techniques for a longer duration than common retail jewellery plating. This ensures an extra-thick Gold and Rhodium coating on the piece. While the plating is more resilient than common retail plating, it is still plating which requires more sensitivity than solid-metal pieces.

Gold is plated in either 18k or 22k.

Avoid water and household chemicals/cosmetics at all costs. Avoid prolonged skin-contact, particularly if it is hot and you are inclined to sweat.

Gold-Filled pieces

Gold filled chain is an excellent alternative to solid-gold chains. While it is incredibly durable, the same general care rules apply. Avoid exposure to water, cosmetics and chemicals. Use mild soap and warm water to clean, and immediately dry with a soft towel.

General Care

It is recommended to place unworn pieces inside your Debashi jewellery bag or an airtight container to prevent oxidisation.

Extra care should be given to pieces with gems as all are susceptible to scratches and shattering.

For general cleaning, use mild soap, warm water and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Dry immediately and thoroughly with a clean and soft towel. Use a jewellery cloth to remove tarnish gently.

ITEM VARIATION

All pieces are made to order, and so variation is natural. Due to this personalised creation process, every piece will exhibit its own unique characteristics. The ring you receive will be similar to the one pictured, but with slight variations in the texture and contours that make it truly one-of-a-kind.
